As part of our Lunch & Learn series here’s Phoebe Williams, the founder and CEO of The PMDD Project.
Feeling overwhelmed, anxious or struggling with severe mood changes around your cycle? You’re not alone. Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) affects around 1 in 20 women and those assigned female at birth, yet it’s often misunderstood, misdiagnosed or dismissed.
The impact can be life-changing but with the right awareness and support, things can get better. In this session, we talked to Phoebe Williams, who shared her story and expertise to shine a light on this under-recognised condition. We explored what PMDD is, how it differs from PMS and the latest thinking around treatment and workplace support.
Most importantly, we discussed practical strategies for those experiencing PMDD and advice for colleagues and employers on how to build understanding and create supportive environments.
Phoebe Williams is the founder of The PMDD Project, a global platform dedicated to raising awareness, providing resources and building community for those affected by PMDD. After her own diagnosis, Phoebe has become a passionate advocate, working with health professionals, organisations and individuals to improve understanding and support for this debilitating condition.
