We have all been there when we plan a stylish and on-trend outfit in our head, but then find that once we try it on, it does not make us feel good. However, getting dressed in the morning doesn’t have to be something you dread. By following our tips and advice you can feel happier and more confident in your clothes.
Learn how to dress your own body
One of the biggest steps to feeling happier and more confident in your clothes is by getting to know your body shape and learning how to dress it. While it is important is that you feel free to wear what you want; the more in tune you are with what looks good on you, the more confident you will feel.
All our bodies are different and that is what makes them all so special, and one of the biggest differences is the body shape we have. From a ‘pear’ or ‘apple’ body shape to an hourglass figure, there are different body shapes out there that you may be able to identify with. While you may be a mixture of more than one body type, knowing your body better will help you be more confident when finding the right clothes for you.
Always be comfortable
It is important that you always consider how an outfit feels, and how comfortable you are in it, as this is going to have a direct impact on how confident you are going to feel. If you wear an outfit that is too small or doesn’t fit you correctly, then you aren’t likely to feel your best. Therefore, we recommend that no matter what the occasion, whether casual or formal, that you are comfortable at all times. It will automatically make you feel much happier.
Step out of your comfort zone
Sometimes in the world of fashion, you have to take a step out of your comfort zone and try something new before you can feel fully happy and comfortable in your clothing. Many of us are guilty of wearing the same clothes over and over again because it is what we are used to. However, wearing the same clothes is not going to make us feel that great or confident.
So, while we recommend that you take a step out of your comfort zone when it comes to the clothes you wear, you may also consider making your own clothing items. If you can’t find the type of clothes that you want, in the size and styles you would like, then you can create them yourself. Creating your own clothes can be a really fun way to find clothes that fit your measurements permanently. You should be sure to get a sewing mannequin to help you if you try the DIY route, to make designing and creating easier.
So many of us are guilty of putting our style dreams on hold until we have time to spend at the gym and have finally hit our target weight. But using that as an excuse is not a valid reason that should get in the way of you feeling happier and more confident in your clothes. You don’t have to be a particular weight or look to feel good about yourself.
So, we recommend that you encourage yourself to wear clothes that make you look and feel good straight away and give yourself the opportunities needed to grow your confidence.
Get rid of clothes that make you feel bad
If you look in your closet and can see clothes that make you feel bad about yourself, then throw them straight into the trash. Any clothes that don’t fit you correctly or are too tight and don’t flatter your body shape and type will not help you grow in confidence and feel happier in your clothes. Many of us are guilty of keeping hold of old clothes that we hope to one day fit into again, but this does nothing for your confidence and instead just makes you feel worse about yourself.
