Five ways to update your wardrobe for a casually chic Spring look, without spending a penny!
Stuck in a winter fashion rut? Want to update your wardrobe? You can shrug off your woollies and prepare for Spring sunshine with a bit of wardrobe ingenuity! Think frugal and still retain your style.
Tip 1
Rediscover an old jacket or blazer and team it with a pair of jeans. This outfit will take you pretty much anywhere and a jacket looks so much fresher and more pulled together than your winter anorak! If the spring sunshine goes in, add a scarf!
Tip 2
Swap your winter boots for a pair of flats – point toes, ballerinas, plimsolls, you decide – just make sure you flash your ankles!
Tip 3
Forget about winter black and instead choose blue as your base colour. Add spring tones such as yellows, greens and pinks to lift your look.
Tip 4
Midi or below the knee skirts are good for covering up pale winter legs. Juxtapose a skirt you would usually reserve for high summer with a thick knit and a pair of ankle boots.
Tip 5
Try the fashion editor semi tuck. Literally tuck half of your shirt or jumper into the front of your skirt, skinny/straight jeans or fitted trousers for an ultra-casual fashion editor chic look. Blouson the tuck to give balance and team with a pair of mid heels to elongate the figure.
